About The Department

The Department of Pharmacology is an Important and Integral part of Swamy Vivekanandha College of Pharmacy. The PG Research Department of Pharmacology was started in the year 2009. It was approved by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi & All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M. G. R Medical University, Chennai. The department has well equipped PG Pharmacology & Toxicology laboratory, UG Pharmacology laboratory, and Anatomy, Physiology & Health Education Laboratory with Sophisticated Instruments for conducting regular practical and Preclinical Research projects.

The Department of Pharmacology have its own well maintained Sophisticated Animal house facility (Registration No.889/PO/Re/S/05/CPCSEA) approved by Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), New Delhi (Govt. of India) up to 2023 for conducting experiments on Laboratory Animals such as Mice, Rats, Guinea Pigs, and Rabbits if essential for preclinical studies. Our college has Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC), which is approved by CPCSEA, New Delhi to review and approve the animal based research proposals and experimentation. Our department goal is to prepare and produce highly knowledgeable and outstanding students for dynamic and successful careers in Pharmaceutical industry, Academics, R & D, Healthcare and Public sectors. We are proud of the excellence of our scientific research and our deep commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate education in Pharmacology.
